Five extracts, consisting of the orchestral Preludio; the famous Romanza de Ramón familiar from recordings by Alfredo Kraus, Miguel Fleta and others; the Dúo de Rosiña y Ramón, Romanza de Ramón con coro de tiples, and a noble Canto a Galicia make up this component of an all-Guridi CD. Luckily the performances, featuring legendary tenor Baldrich and the efficient de Disso, give a good idea of the quality of a score which was critically much praised in its day but has dropped from the repertoire since. Self-recommending to collectors, but worth hearing for its own sake.
